The Urgent Need

If you keep knocking long enough, he will get up and give you what you want so his reputation won't be damaged.  Luke 11:8

A Modeal of Intercession

They will pray to the Lord day and night for teh fulfillment of his promises. Take no rest, all you who pray.  Isaiah 62:6-7

Thank You for the privilege of prayer, Father.  Thank You for providing access to Your throne through Jesus.  Amen.

A Living Connection

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.  Hebrews 13:8

Lord God, make all these truths live in us.  May we not rest until they have mastered us and our whole heart is so filled with them that we count the practice of intercession as our highest privilege.  In Jesus' name, Amen.

Linking with the King

So after more fasting and prayer, the men laid their hands on them and sent them on their way.  Acts 13:3

Lord, may I always pray with expectations, knowing that You will grant my request because Your Holy Spirit lives in me.  Amen.

Stone Walls Give Way

A Higher Gift

Your prayers and gifts to the poor have not gone unnoticed by God!  Acts 10:4

Spiritual Roots

Ministration of the Spirit and Prayer

If you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him.   Luke 11:13

Lord, make me aware that I need to pray in the power of the Spirit.  May we, Your Church, prayer - believing that You will answer.  Amen.

Health for the Soul

He was amazed to see that no one intervened to help the oppressed.   Isaiah 59:16

Lord, enable us for the work of intercession which is the greatest need of the Church and the world today.  Amen.

Finding the Root Cause

And God will generously provide all you need.  Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.    2 Corinthians 9:8

Lord, may I be attentive to the teaching of Your Spirit as I continue to learn about prayer.  Amen.

Time for Prayer

Yet no one calls on your name or pleads with you for mercy.   Isaiah 64:7

Father, I see that I am not alone.  If othes with time pressure can learn to pray as they should, then I can also.  Teach me to pray.  Amen.

The Lack of Prayer

And yet the reason you don't have what you want is that you don't ask God for it!   James 4:2

Lord, stir up faith and inspire assurance that God by His Spirit will enable us to pray as we should.  Amen.

The Love that Suffers

Live a life filled with love for others, following the example of Christ, who loved you and gave himself as a sacrifice to take away your sins.  Ephesians 5:2

Lord, may I know the real fellowship of Your love.  Teach me unreserved surrender, always seeking Your glory in the service of others.  Amen.

The Power of God's Word

The very words I have spoken to you are spirit and life.  John 6:63

Lord, thank you for the love that you have shown us.  Help us to commit ourselves to a love for each other that reflects Your love for us.  In Jesus' name, Amen.

Like Christ

I have given you an example to follow.  Do as I have done to you.    John 13:15

Father, will You strengthen us daily to love one another in Christ, even as He loved us!  Amen.

A Song of Love

These are three things that will endure - faith, hope, and love and the greatest of these is love.   1 Corinathians 13:13

Lord, may I live each day in fellowship with the triune love of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit so that I learn the secret of how to love.  Amen.

Pray for Love

And may the Lord make your love grow and overflow to each other and to everyone else, just as our love overflows toward you.   1 Thessalonians 3:12

Lord, by Your great love, grant me a heart of love.  May my love overflow more and more and keep growing my knowledge and understanding of Your Word that I may be filled with the fruit of Your salvation.  Amen.

The First Commandment

The Lord your God will cleanse your heart...so that you will love him with all your heart and soul.   Deuteronomy 30:6

Lord, I bow before You.  Fulfill my desire, which is also Your desire, that my heart may be filled with You.  Amen.

Love and Prayer

Be earnest and disciplined in your prayers.  Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other.  1 Peter 4:7-8

Father, may Your love overwhelm me.  May I love You and Your church with all my heart.  In Jesus' name, Amen.

The Two Leaders

I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people.  As you make your requests, plead for God's mercy upon them, and give thanks.    1 Timothy 2:1

Lord, the hearts of rulers are in Your hands; teach them to do Your will.  Amen.

As God Forgives

And forgive us our sins - just as we forgive those who have sinned against us.  Luke 11:4

Lord, as I need Your forgiveness each day so let me be ready to forgive my brother.  In Jesus' name, Amen.

Love Your Enemies

You have heard that the law of Moses says, "Love your neighbor" and hate your enemy.   Matthew 5:43

Father, help me by the power of Your Holy Spirit to truly love my enemies.  In Jesus' name, Amen.

Race-Hatred

Once we, too, were foolish and disobedient.  We were misled by others and became slaves to many wicked and evil pleasures.    Titus 3:3

God, make known to us Your love in heavenly power, and let it take full possession of our lives.  May Your church be an example of love for all mankind.  In Jesus' name, Amen.

The Sign of a True Church

Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.   John 13:35

Lord, I am dependent upon You if I am to live a life of faith that glorifies you in all that I do.  Please fil me and enable me to live such a life.  In Jesus' name, Amen.

The Power of Love

Overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.  Romans 8:37

Lord, give me grace as I examine how I am living my life.  Enalbe me, as a servant of Your love, to live for those around me.  In Jesus' name, Amen.

The Love of the Spirit

He has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.  Romans 5:5

Lord, grant me the assurance that You will pour forth the love of Christ into my own heart, and then let it stream forth to all around me!  Amen.

The Love of Christ

Whatever we do, it is because Christ's love controls us.  2 Corinthians 5:14

Father, thank You for paying such a price so that I can share in Your love.  Help me to share it with others.  In Jesus' name.  Amen.

The Love of God

God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.  1 John 4:16

God of love, thank You for loving me the way You do.  It is beyond my understanding.  I praise You for Your love.  Amen.
